Green People was born in 1994 when Charlotte Vohtz tried to find a solution for her daughter's skin allergies and eczema. She quickly realised that most skincare products available were made using synthetic ingredients, which just made her daughter's condition worse, so she was inspired to create her own organic creams and salves. After several years of research and development Green People launched its first skincare products in 1997. The promise to not use synthetic chemicals or aggressive ingredients that first inspired Green People still exists today.
Green People were instrumental in working with the Soil Association to create a set of natural and organic standards for cosmetics products, which at that time did not exist. Today many of Green People's products still carry the Soil Association Organic Logo, as well as the ECOCERT Organic and Natural logos. Around 90% of all Green People products carry one of these certifications. However all of the products carry the Beauty Without Bunnies logo certifying their Cruelty Free status.
